  • About
  • Matthew Mason is a nine year old boy who struggles daily to overcome multiple medical issues with no known cause.

"Waiting for an Answer"
  • His entire family joins Matthew in the hospital waiting room as he waits to get tested for Williams syndrome, the latest in a series of medical tests.
  • Matthew sorts through his medications before checking his blood-sugar levels. His mother, Sarah, tries to regulate his diet with limited sugars and processed foods.
  • Matthew disconnects from his family while eating cereal. His parents are eager for a diagnosis, as simply knowing what they're up against will guide them to effective treatment.
  • The Mason family gathers for breakfast before Sarah begins morning lessons. Due to Matthew's unique situation, the Masons have chosen to homeschool Matthew and his three siblings.
  • Isabelle Mason, 7, and her mother Sarah share a moment while doing chores while Matthew works intently on building a LEGO scene.
  • Matthew joins his brother Seth Mason, 3, left, and family friend Rhinna Chabassol, 6, as they feed the ducks after spending the morning in the hospital running tests.
  • Matthew's parents encourage him to be as active as possible in his treatments, as they realize these are issues he will be dealing with for the rest of his life.
  • Matthew draws his favorite cartoon characters in his notebook during a family American Sign Language course.
  • Sarah Mason leads her son Matthew and family friend Rhinna Chassabol, 6, in music lessons. "I just hope that we find an answer," Sarah says.
